Community and social welfare activities have always been given priority by the Dawood Group, generously participating in a multitude of social welfare activities.  The Dawood Family formed the Dawood Foundation in 1961, one of the largest public charitable trusts in the country today. The foundation has contributed substantial funds for establishing schools, college, hospitals and dispensaries.

The famous Dawood College Engineering & Technology Karachi was established by the Foundation in 1962 (nationalized in 1971) and the Dawood public School Karachi, Skardu School of Science and Humanities etc. are some of the projects undertaken by this Foundation. The Foundation awards scholarships to talented and deserving students for higher studies. Dawood Foundation also Donates regularly to Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital Islamabad, Which is one of the leading charitable eye hospitals in the country.
